REG109 - Hazardous Weather and Internal Disaster Preparedness (1.0 HR)
This course addresses both weather events and manmade threats that create dangers for long-term care residents and staff. Health care workers will learn how to prepare for and respond to such events.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Contrast weather watch and weather warning.
- Explain appropriate measures to take for flood cleanup.
- Discuss the hazards and safety measures associated with ice storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and wildfires.
- Describe what kind of information might be gleaned from a caller during a bomb threat and how it can keep residents and staff safe.
