REG109 - Hazardous Weather and Internal Disaster Preparedness (1.0 HR)

This course addresses both weather events and manmade threats that create dangers for long-term care residents and staff. Health care workers will learn how to prepare for and respond to such events.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Contrast weather watch and weather warning.
  2. Explain appropriate measures to take for flood cleanup.
  3. Discuss the hazards and safety measures associated with ice storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and wildfires.
  4. Describe what kind of information might be gleaned from a caller during a bomb threat and how it can keep residents and staff safe.
